Should Convicted Foreign Child Sex Offenders Be Deported from Cambodia?

Criminal deportation refers to the situation in which an individual is ordered or transported out of a state as a result of a criminal conviction. While in multiple countries the number of criminal deportations is rising exponentially, still less than one in three convicted foreign child sex offenders are ordered to be deported from Cambodia after finishing their sentence. Little is known about judges’ motivations behind deportation orders or the absence thereof.
